Class Descriptions:
Mommy and Me: This is a fun class for dancers ages 1 to 3 and their parent / guardian to play games and participate in activities to begin to learn basic movements like jumping and clapping to the rhythm of the music
Tartan Tots: This is a fun class for dancers ages 3 and 4 to learn how to apply basic movements to music and learn rhythm. Dancers have the opportunity to take exams annually.
Prancing Primaries: This is a fun class for dancers ages 4 to 7 to learn the basic movements and foundations of Highland Dance. Dancers have the opportunity to take exams annually.
Bonnie Beginners: This is either a next steps class for our Prancing Primaries or a great starting point for dancers 7 years and older as they begin to learn the Fling, Sword, Lilt and Flora. Dancers have the opportunity to take exams annually and begin to compete.
Pre-Premier: As recreational or competitive, dancers progress through their 4 basic dances they will move on to learn new steps and dances. As well, they will begin to improve technique and set personal goals. Dancers have the opportunity to take exams annually and begin / continue to compete.
Advanced Competitive Dancers: As competitive dancers move up through the categories they will begin to learn new dances and focus on more advanced technique. Dancers have the opportunity to take exams annually as well as compete.
Strength and Stamina: This is a class for all dancers beginner and above to work on building muscle and technique that is important to avoid injury and be successful as a dancer. This class must be taken in addition to a technique class. **Not appropriate for Tartan Tots and Prancing Primaries.
Highland Hustle: This is a perfect class for past highland dancers or those interested in learning for fun to improve fitness levels and have some laughs. This class will also include ceilidh dances mixed with Highland Movements and exercises.
